So You Want to Get Contacts?

You may feel excited about getting contacts. You may also feel nervous about some of the requirements for wearing contact lenses, like touching your eyeball.

Wearing contacts comes with some responsibilities and requires maturity. You must take the time required to properly clean and disinfect your lenses to keep your eyes healthy. Also, you have to remember to take your lenses out during some activities and to bring along rewetting drops and additional contact lens solution and rewetting drops in case you should need it during the day.

How Would I Get My Contacts?

If you think you're ready, set up an appointment with an eye doctor. There are a number of contact lens types, and your eye doctor will work with you to determine which contact lenses are best for you.

Tell your eye doctor your common activities and interests, and if you have any health problems, like allergies. Once you receive your contact lenses, review any special instructions regarding your lenses—like how long you should wear them and which contact lens care solution you should use.

Always follow your contact lens care directions for use.
