A contact lens disinfection system must be both bactericidal and fungicidal. The disinfection system in OPTI-FREE® RepleniSH® MPDS consists of POLYQUAD® and ALDOX®. This is the same disinfection system used in OPTI-FREE® EXPRESS® MPDS.
POLYQUAD® achieves its bactericidal effects by disrupting the cell membrane of bacteria, resulting in the death of the bacteria.
Products containing POLYQUAD® and ALDOX® preservatives are safe and biocompatible with ocular tissues.
